Titanium Dioxide

Titanium dioxide products can be classified into various types based on different standards.

By Titanium Dioxide Grade:

  • Industrial Grade: Primarily used in industries such as paint, plastic, rubber, and paper. It offers high cost-effectiveness and is suitable for mass production. Common specifications include R-902 and R-900.
  • Food Grade : Used in food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. It is non-toxic, tasteless, colorless, and has a fine particle size.
  • Pharmaceutical Grade: Mainly used in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. It has high purity and is free from heavy metal contamination. Common specifications include USP31 and USP32.
  • Photocatalytic: Used in wastewater treatment, air purification, and photocatalytic optimization. It possesses unique photocatalytic properties.
  • Nano: Features high specific surface area, strong photocatalytic properties, chemical stability, and UV resistance. It can be used in solar cells, ceramics, and dye-sensitized solar cells.

By Titanium Dioxide Crystalline Form:

  • Anatase: Reflects higher in the shortwave part of visible light and has a bluish hue. It has lower UV absorption but higher photocatalytic activity.
  • Rutile: More stable and denser than anatase. It has higher hardness, density, dielectric constant, and refractive index, as well as greater opacity and tinting strength.

Special Properties:

  • Nano: Because it is characterized by small particles with a diameter below 100 nanometers, it appears as a white loose powder and has properties such as UV resistance, antibacterial, self-cleaning, and anti-aging.
  • Transparent: Because of its feature of high transparency and it can be used in high-transparency plastics, high-temperature ceramics, synthetic crystals, and optical coatings.
  • Aqueous: It refers to titanium dioxide dispersed in water to form a stable solution, Portanto, it can be used to prepare high-performance suspensions, inorganic membranes, and coatings.

Other Classifications of Titanium Dioxide:

  • General: An important white pigment known for its excellent opacity, gloss, and color stability. It is widely used in paint, plastic, rubber, paper, and cosmetics.
