Introduction of Titanium Ingot

  • We are discussing titanium ingots, which encompass both pure titanium and チタン合金 ingots.
  • The raw material for producing titanium ingots is スポンジチタン, which, after high-temperature melting, can form dense titanium ingots.
  • This density is beneficial for further forging and processing into titanium materials.
  • Sponge titanium must be converted into a dense, forgeable metal to allow for mechanical processing and widespread use in various industrial sectors.

Quality Standard of Titanium Ingot

  • GB/T 26060-2010
  • This standard applies to prototype titanium and titanium alloy ingots and rectangular flat ingots produced by Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) and Electron Beam Cold Hearth Melting (EBCHM).

Qualified products should meet the following requirements:

Production Method and Melting Times

The production method and melting times for the ingots are in the table below:

学年Production MethodMelting Times
All grades in GB/T 3620.1VAR, EBCHM+VARAt least twice
EBCHMOnce

Chemical Composition

  1. Grade and Chemical Composition: The grade and chemical composition of titanium and titanium alloy ingots should comply with the requirements of GB/T 3620.1.
  2. Permissible Deviation in Chemical Composition: When the purchaser takes samples from the titanium ingots for re-analysis of the chemical composition, the permissible deviations should comply with the requirements of GB/T 3620.2.

Dimensions and Permissible Deviations

  1. Diameter (Thickness or Width) Permissible Deviations: The permissible deviations for the diameter (thickness or width) of the ingots should comply with the table below: (Unit: millimeters)
Diameter (Thickness or Width)Permissible Deviation (mm)
<350±30
350-550+5 / -55
550-720+5 / -60
720-820+5 / -70
820-1040+5 / -80
>1040+5 / -100
  • Difference Between Maximum and Minimum Diameter (Thickness or Width):
    • Should not exceed half of the permissible deviation of its diameter (thickness or width).
  • Length and Permissible Deviations:
    • Determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract.
  • Chamfering:
    • Edges of the heads and tails (including side edges for flat ingots) should be chamfered with a radius of at least 20 mm.
  • Ingot Cutting Angle:
    • Should not exceed 30 mm.
